I'm so disappointed that I missed out on almost all of the NC bbq! :( Damn food poisoning!!! We're gonna have to go back! I asked Jeannie for the bbq recipe that she makes using the honey vinaigrette dressing, so hopefully that will satisfy my craving for good bbq. And I definitely like Aly.

@cjmemay - Your tongue and snout are much more attuned to the nuances of barbeque than mine, but yes, I believe each location is using the vinegar heavy Carolina style. Each location has their own branded sauces on the table as well, so you can flavor to your taste.

@Aly - I know who you are, and I like you too.

@Brian - Coming home it was a toss up between Sonic and Bojangles. Bojangles won, and I'm glad it did.

Way to use those microformats! We couldn't resist stopping at Sonic on the way back. It was pretty good, but I wish I had tried some of the desserts they had.

This just became my favorite blog.

I'm scheduled to head down to NC in the fall, so I'll try to have check out most, if not all of these locales. I've already pencilled in the original Duck Deli, so my week is really filling up.

Would you say all 3 places used a vinegar heavy Carolina-style BBQ, or just the pigman? Were any of them sweet or spicy glazes?

Oh crap, I've gone and made myself hungry.
